What resources exist to assist schools in implementing the NEIR model?

What resources exist-provided by the STEM Equity Initiative - to assist schools in implementing the NEIR model?

NEIR stands for Normalizing, Empowering, Inclusive, and Relevant and represent the four conditions necessary for creating an equitable learning environment. (The website can provide more background and resources on this - www.stemequityinitiative.org). We help educators better understand how to create the environment where every student can be successful. We believe that no one can develop expertise to address every student’s unique cultural, demographic, or personal background, but teachers can gain the tools they need to support their understanding and ability to better serve their students in every classroom.

From 2017-2021 the STEM Equity Initiative has worked closely with multiple secondary schools (both Career and Technology Centers and comprehensive high schools that offer CTE programs and courses) and community and technical colleges. Working with rural, suburban, and urban schools allows the organization to better serve the needs of their audience.

Because the STEM Equity Initiative is a small (dare we say boutique) organization, overhead costs are kept low. All efforts can be tailored to the diversity of schools and college needs.
